Several trade union organisations have submitted to the Labour Authority in Catalonia a notice of a General Strike for 03/08/24 throughout the territory of the autonomous community of Catalonia, on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
This notice has not been challenged, so the strike has been legalised within the framework of the Right to Strike of workers.
Workers who choose their right to support this strike will have their employment contract suspended for that day, and will not be entitled to receive the corresponding salary, nor the proportional part of the extra payments nor the weekly rest days. For its part, the company will not be obliged to pay Social Security contributions for that day.
