Occupational risk prevention | GM Integra HR

INFORMATION NOTE GM Integra RRHH:

ROYAL DECREE-LAW 4/2023 ON THE PREVENTION OF OCCUPATIONAL RISKS IN EPISODES OF HIGH TEMPERATURES.

On 05/13/23, this new regulation came into force, which establishes the obligation for companies to especially protect workers who provide services outdoors or who, due to the characteristics of the activity being carried out, the workplace cannot be closed.

In these cases, the employer must evaluate, through its prevention service, the specific risks derived from exposure to adverse meteorological phenomena, including extreme temperatures, in relation to the characteristics of the tasks being carried out and the personal characteristics of the worker, and apply the appropriate preventive measures to safeguard their health.

If it is not possible to apply other preventive measures such as reducing or modifying the hours of service provision, certain tasks will be prohibited during the hours of the day when adverse weather conditions occur.

This obligation will apply to all workplaces.
