2024 INTERPROFESSIONAL MINIMUM WAGE PUBLICATION
Royal Decree 145/2024, of February 6 (BOE 02/07/2024), sets the interprofessional minimum wage for 2024 at 1,134 euros per month in 14 payments or 1,323 in 12.
Please note that the increase will be retroactive to January 1 of this year.
It should also be stressed that the planned salary increase does not generally affect the Salary Tables provided for in each Agreement, unless they set a Minimum Salary lower than that indicated, in which case said salary must be updated, and, likewise, it will be compensable by all the income received by the worker in proportion to his/her workday, unless the Contract or Agreement establishes different rules and limits said compensation.
In conclusion, it should be stressed that the publication of the Inter-Professional Minimum Salary will also imply the update of the Minimum Contribution Bases, which will correspond to the aforementioned Minimum Salary. We remain awaiting the corresponding update.
SMI for domestic workers, seasonal workers and casual workers: In relation to these employees, two additional notes must be indicated:
- Domestic workers who work by the hour will receive a minimum of 8.87 euros/hour.
- For temporary and casual workers, whose services to the same company do not exceed 120 days, the salary cannot be less than 53.71 euros/day.
