REMINDER OF DEADLINES FOR COMMUNICATING VARIOUS CHANGES IN SOCIAL SECURITY FOR SELF-EMPLOYED WORKERS
1.- Change of collaborating Social Security mutual insurance company:
Self-employed workers who are interested in changing the current mutual insurance company with which they have social security benefits such as temporary disability or work accidents covered, have a period of time until 09/30/21, with this change taking effect from 01/01/22.
2.- Change of contribution bases:
Self-employed workers who are interested in changing their current Social Security contribution base, whether to increase or reduce it, may do so up to four times within each calendar year.
The deadlines for submitting applications for changes in bases, as well as the effects that will occur from 01-01-2018, will be as follows:
- Submission from January 1 to March 31, effective from April 1.
- Submission from April 1 to June 30, effective from July 1.
- Submission from July 1 to September 30, effective from October 1.
- Submission from October 1 to December 31, effective from January 1 (following year).
We remind you that the contribution base in this special regime will be chosen by the Self-Employed worker between the minimum and maximum bases, which for this year 2021, is between a minimum base of 944.40 euros per month and a maximum base of 4,070.10 euros per month. However, there are the following particularities for self-employed workers aged 48 or over as of 1 January 2021, in which case the contribution base will be between the amounts of 1,018.50 and 2,077.80 euros per month, unless prior to the age of 50, they had contributed to any of the Social Security schemes for 5 years or more, for a base greater than €2,052, in which case they may choose a base between €944.40 per month and the amount of the former, with a maximum contribution base of €4,070.10 per month.
